Have you seen this thing on your street ? It's the City's Street Surface Assessment Vehicle, which was used to log data for all COH streets to assess their condition. Below is map (very large file) of the data from the City’s multi-year project to access the pavement condition of every street in the city. The data is placed on a curve where: RED Low 10% (bottom 10% of all street segments in Houston) BROWN Med-Low 20% YELLOW Medium 40% BLUE Med-High 20% GREEN High 10% (top 10% of all street segments in Houston) If you are familiar with a street that has seen substantial
deterioration in the last half year or so (largely because of the drought),
please report the same through either 3-1-1 or by dropping an email to the District G office. The city is aware there has been substantial heaving and cracking
of some streets because of the drought, and there will be additional damage
caused once the rains return and the soils rebound. The Street Surface
Assessment Vehicle may be sent back to areas that report recent substantial
damage from the drought and, if warranted, a new pavement condition ranking
would be put in place. |
