Parking Tickets

As was announced at the August meeting and mentioned in the minutes, COH Parking Management is actively looking for parking violations in our neighborhoods. The most common problems are parking facing the wrong direction and parking "head in" on the cul-de-sacs. We have heard that this action is taking place in other Super Neighborhoods as well.

From the District G office: " If the tickets are in a green envelope, it is Parking Management, not HPD, that is writing the tickets.  That is their job.  They are charged with enforcing all of the city’s parking regulations, on every public street within the city—that is all they do.  We receive complaints every time they write tickets in an area that has not seen enforcement in some time.  Our office is not able to direct where or when they choose to enforce the law—in fact, we are prohibited from attempting to do so. Remember that someone who receives a ticket is always free to contest it if they feel it was issued in error.  "

Below is a brief summary from the Parking Management department outlining their group's function and the common parking issues and the associated fines.
