This Saturday, April 28th, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM, the City of
Houston will be hosting a dual event at the Westside Police
Station. The first portion will be a document shredding event. There
will be a large shredding truck available free of charge for anyone
to bring their personal documents to be destroyed. It is our understanding that this particular truck has an internal video camera so
that you can actually see your documents being shredded. Also
available will be literature provided by the police department on
preventing identity theft.
The second portion of the event is a DEA drug take back. This is
an opportunity for all citizens to bring there old, unwanted or expired
medication and have them property disposed of by the DEA. These can
be either prescriptions or over the counter medications. This also is a
service provided free of charge.
We would love to have as large a turnout as possible for this
event, so please forward this to everyone in your organizations. The
should go a long way toward helping prevent identity theft issues over
personal financial information not being property destroyed, as well as
keeping our landfills and waterways free of unwanted medications. M. L. Skillern, Captain
Houston Police Department Westside Division |
